ANGELS WINGS FOUNDATION IS PROUD TO ANNOUNCE THE CONTINUATION OF THE ANGELS WINGS THAI SCHOLARSHIP, U.S. AND CELEBRATES THE FIFTH YEAR OF THE ANGELS WINGS SCHOLARSHIP INITIATIVE August 23, 2021 – President & Founder Porntip Bui Simon celebrates the fifth year of offering her Angels Wings Thai Scholarship to deserving students in need of financial aid for their college education. This will be the second year that Simon has extended the scholarship to the entire U.S “Education is the foundation of change and innovation for our future. Reading each and every one of the applications that we received was incredibly heartwarming that I couldn’t just select 50 so the final count this year will be 57! Having read about their challenges and aspirations, I know that the extraordinary recipients this year are not only hard working and deserving but have overcome such obstacles to get where they are today,” said Simon. The initiative behind the Angels Wings Thai Scholarship, U.S., is to recognize and honor students of Thai heritage who have demonstrated academic excellence, are committed to continue their higher education and have a focus on helping others. “Our world today is challenged with so many daunting issues, however we have it within us to do our best to come together and create solutions. Through the selection process of this unique scholarship I was reminded of how the future belongs to the inspiring youth and that we need to do better in supporting them. I am so proud of the remarkable 57 Angels Wings Thai Scholarship recipients. The AWF Thai Scholarship, U.S. is available to high-achieving seniors with financial need who seek to attend four-year colleges, universities, or city/community colleges and who meet certain requirements needed for application. Students selected as AWF Scholars will receive financial support for their continuing education. Recipients attending city/community colleges will receive $5,000 and those attending 4-year colleges or universities will receive a $10,000 scholarship. The foundation will select recipients based on a combination of their academic promise, financial need, service to others, leadership and essay response.
